Are the camera images B/W (black and white) or color?

All of our cameras are color images. In case of night images with complete darkness, they can be viewed in black and white on night vision mode due to light generated by LEDS (function on any infrared camera).
Professional camera lens captures the image and through an optical filter removes any infrared light, showing exact colors and approaching the objective in its image sensor (CCD).
Nowadays, it is possible to find in the market day/night cameras that have an auto-filter. This filter moves in front of the image sensor only when the light is appropriate, generating this way color images. When poor lightning occurs, this filter moves and the camera sends the signal in black and white producing luminosity, obtaining a scene with infrared light and ability to view in total darkness an excellent image.

Why are infrared cameras used?

Infrared cameras allows you to view night-time images that cannot be seen with a naked eye. It is highly recommended for recording images without having artificial lightning on all the time.

Can cameras be viewed on a regular TV?

Yes, It's possible by connecting the composite video input on your TV through a connector converter BNC to RCA. You must have a DVR (digital video recorder) or video capture card inserted in you PC in order to record.

What are resolution lines on CCTV cameras?

Resolution is the detail an image holds. The images that are captured by the camera are sharper and allows a greater precision of people or things. A higher resolution means there will be more image detail. In CCTV cameras, resolution lines are measured in TV lines (TVL) and digital cameras in pixels.

What happens when a cable or power is cut off?

Both an alarm and warning of failure will notify the person in charge of monitoring problems in surveillance systems.

What If I have 16 cameras and need to feed 12v, should I install a transformer for each one of them?

This is an option. A more reliable way is to use a power supply box that provides centralized power to 16 cameras or less. They come in a professional presentable cabinet that mounts on a wall or flat surface.
Making it easy since there is only one plug to connect to the 110v outlet. They come prepared to receive camera wiring and have fuses or breakers with visual indicators, allowing in case of failure, at a glance to see what circuit was without power.

Can there be outdoor cameras?

Yes, they can. As long as they are weatherproof cameras designed for exteriors. Most of our outdoor cameras have IP66 protection, which protects them against water, dust or contact.
This means that they are prepared to be outdoors and receive rain directly.
Be sure to always check and ask for level protection of your products. We recommend CCCTV housings to extend the life of cameras when environmental conditions are extreme.

Any recommendations for lens millimeters and is there a relationship between angular field of view and focal length?

That depends on the use you intend to give the camera in the area you need to protect.
Type and size of lens that your CCTV camera has plays a very important role in determining what image is captured by the camera. It is vital that you, or your CCTV advisory, choose the right lens for the job.
Angular Field of View:
The field of view, is the amount of any given scene that can be captured by the CCTV camera. It is also described as the angle view. The field of view is affected by the lens size, the CCD sensor size, and the distance the surveillance camera is from the scene.
Generally a large field of view means the target object is relatively small compared with a camera with a small field of view. CCD sensor size CCTV cameras come with a variety of different chip sizes such as 1/4", 1/3", 1/2" and 2/3". The different sizes also affect the viewing angle. The smaller the chip size is, the narrower the angle of view will be.
Focal Length:
Is measured in millimeters (mm) and gives an indication of the angle of view. For example, a short focal length such as 3.6 mm will give you a wide angle of view and a long focal length such as 25 mm will give a narrower angle of view.
Depth of Field:
The depth of field is the distance within objects in a picture that appears in focus. A large depth of field means almost all objects are in focus whereas a small depth of field means only a small part of the overall field of view is in focus.

What does the LUX measurement of a camera mean?

Lux relates the energy per unit area falling on a surface to what the human eye can see. Light sensitivity of a camera is measured in Lux and indicates to what light level the camera will be able to record to.
Direct sunlight is 100,000 – 130,000 Lux
Daylight is 10,000 – 20,000 Lux
An overcast day is 1,000 Lux
An office is around 200 – 400 Lux
Twilight is 10 Lux
Full moon is 0.1 Lux
Quarter moon is 0.01 Lux
No moon in a clear night sky is 0.001 Lux

What role does an auto-iris lens have?

Normally, security cameras are exposed to various changes of light. This occurs in outdoor cameras more than indoor cameras. The motorized iris lense automatically adapts to the conditions of brightness and contrast in accordance with the levels of environmental light.

What is a varifocal lens?

The term varifocal is usually confused with the term zoom. A varifocal lens is a camera lens with variable focal length in which focus changes as focal length (and magnification) changes, as compared to parfocal zoom lens which remains in focus as the lens zooms (focal length and magnification change).

Do cameras have motion detectors?

No, cameras do not have motion detectors. However, this feature is configured through the DVR o video capture card software.

What is zoom function?

A function that allows you to zoom in or zoom out from a picture, the zoom is classified into two types, which are:
• Digital Zoom: You can achieve any increase, but the image quality begins to decrease, this zoom is only by software.
• Optical Zoom: You can zoom in or zoom out the objective because it has a variable focus lens. This type of motorized lens does not decrease the image quality because the approach is real.
